Principle
Personal data is processed only insofar as this is necessary for operating the website, processing an inquiry, carrying out a possible admission process or due to legal bases. In particular, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and other applicable Austrian data protection provisions are relevant.
Website access and server log files
When the website is accessed, technically necessary access data may be processed by the web server. This can include in particular IP address or host name, date and time of access, pages accessed, browser used, operating system, language settings and referrer information.
This processing serves the technical provision, stability and security of the website. The legal basis is legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
Contacting us
If you contact us by email or via a contact form, the information you provide will be processed to handle your inquiry and possible follow-up questions. This may include in particular name, email address, telephone number, subject, message, technical access data and voluntarily submitted documents.
Processing takes place to handle your inquiry and, where necessary, to prepare and carry out a possible admission process. Depending on the context, the legal bases include in particular Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in proper, confidential and traceable handling of incoming inquiries.
Contact inquiries without admission context are generally stored for six months for processing your inquiry and possible follow-up questions. Longer retention may be required in individual cases where legal obligations or legitimate documentation interests exist.
Documents in an admission inquiry
If you submit documents in the context of possible admission, they are used exclusively for confidential review of your inquiry. This may include in particular a curriculum vitae and, where required for the specific admission process, a current criminal record certificate. Such documents are not required for general questions or other contact matters.
A criminal record certificate may contain data within the meaning of Art. 10 GDPR. Processing therefore takes place only insofar as it is necessary for the specific admission inquiry, an appropriate legal basis exists and suitable safeguards are taken. Access is granted only to those persons within the SGLA entrusted with confidential handling.
Uploaded documents are not sent as email attachments. They are stored securely on the server and made accessible only via time-limited and use-limited download links. Documents no longer needed are deleted unless legal retention obligations or legitimate documentation obligations oppose this.
Recipients and technical service providers
Personal data is not passed on for advertising purposes. Transfer may take place to technical service providers used for hosting, database operation, email delivery, maintenance or website security, and who process data only within the framework of the respective agreement and instruction.
No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
Cookies and technical functions
The website may use technically necessary cookies or comparable storage technologies insofar as they are required to provide individual functions. You can set your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies or to allow cookies only in individual cases. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of the website may be limited.
Fonts and external services
This website loads the Cormorant Garamond font via Google Fonts. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When loading the fonts, your browser may establish a connection to Google servers. The integration serves a uniform display of the website and is based on legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
Further information can be found in Google's information on Fonts and in Google's privacy policy.
Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have in particular rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, this consent may be withdrawn.
If you suspect that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can contact us at info@sgla.eu or contact the competent data protection authority.
